Roman English
Utha buhaari saas fera, dhiki chaadnaa saath jaato hera.
Literal English Translation
Get up daughter-in-law, take a breath; the moment you leave the dhiki (traditional rice pounding lever), attend to the jaato (traditional stone grinder).
English Meaning
This proverb describes a situation, traditionally faced by a daughter-in-law ('Buhari'), of having an endless series of tasks. As soon as one demanding chore is completed, another immediately awaits, allowing for little to no respite. It signifies a relentless cycle of work and responsibility with barely a moment to 'catch one's breath'.
English Proverb
A woman's work is never done.
