कुनै गलत काम गर्ने व्यक्तिलाई कारबाही गर्न खोज्दा, कारबाही गर्ने पक्ष नै असक्षम वा हास्यास्पद देखिन पुग्दाको अवस्थालाई यो उखानले जनाउँछ। अर्थात्, अपराधीभन्दा पनि उसलाई पक्रन नसक्ने वा पक्रने क्रममा कमजोरी देखाउने निकाय वा व्यक्ति बढी लज्जित हुनुपर्ने भाव यसमा छ।
